The core function of the Compliance Department is to ensure that public procurement is performed in accordance with the Rivers State Public Procurement Law No. 4 of 2008, and Regulations and Guidelines set by the Rivers State Bureau on Public Procurement.
The function is discharged through close liaison with the Procuring Entities (PEs) by:
regular monitoring of procurement activities in the State;
providing Standard Bidding Documents to the PEs and ensuring that they are used;
providing guidance for the development of Procurement Plan;
performing reviews on statutory notification; and
performing periodic procurement audit with a view to identifying and addressing non-compliance.
