Compliance Department Overview
The core function of the Compliance Department is to ensure that public procurement is performed in accordance with the Rivers State Public Procurement Law No. 4 of 2008, and Regulations and Guidelines set by the Rivers State Bureau on Public Procurement.
The function is discharged through close liaison with the Procuring Entities (PEs) by:
- Regular monitoring of procurement activities in the State;
- Providing Standard Bidding Documents to the PEs and ensuring that they are used;
- Providing guidance for the development of Procurement Plan;
- Performing reviews on statutory notification;
- Performing periodic procurement audit with a view to identifying and addressing non-compliance.
Lekie Gima
Head, Compliance Department
Lekie holds a Bachelor and a Master of Law degrees from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port-Harcourt. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Lekie has over 18 years' post-graduation experience, which involved teaching and practice of law in Nigeria. He has participated in local and international capacity development programmes. He is the Head, Compliance Department at the Rivers State Bureau on Public Procurement.
